Pakistan skipper Babar Azam wasn’t happy with his teammate, Shadab Khan’s run out in the last over of the game. The latter started going off before the ball was delivered by Fazalhaq Farooqi. The left-arm pacer removed the bails before completing his bowling action. The discussion around the non-striker run-out (formerly known as Mankading) has always been a matter of heated discussion.

After the game, Khan, who suffered in the last over, said that he tries to stay calm as possible. Meanwhile, he also remembered how his innings against Zimbabwe ended in the T20 World Cup 2022.

“When you are a senior player, you go through these stages every time. I try to be as calm as possible. The pitch was…their players have worked class spinners, so I wanted to take on fast bowlers. The boundaries were long. My plan was to go for two’s,” Shadab Khan said after the match.

We knew we could chase down the target: Babar Azam

Pakistan was asked to chase 301 by Afghanistan. From being 59 all-out in the first game, it was a much-improved performance from the Blue Brigade. Meanwhile, at one stage, the Green Brigade was looking good to win the game easily. However, the typical Pakistani implosion kicked in, and managed to win the game by only one wicket

“All credit to the boys. We just tried to build the partnership when me and Imam were playing, just wanted to play long and see where we stand after 40 overs. We knew we could chase 80 or 90 in the last 10 overs. Naseem also comes up in crunch situations. [Batting against spin] I always try to improve. Can never be satisfied. We see different quality of bowling. I am never worried about my skills and just back my skills at all times. All focus on the last match,” the Pakistan skipper said in the post-match.
