WATCH: New Zealand players visit Dalai Lama’s residence in Dharamsala

New Zealand players met the Dalai Lama in his residence in Dharamsala. The Kiwi players are currently in the northern part of India for the ODI World Cup 2023 campaign. Earlier this week, the Kiwis faced India in the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association stadium in Dharamsala. In a close battle, India overcame New Zealand to clinch a crucial win. New Zealand lost to the World’s number-one ODI side.

New Zealand has been on a good run in the tournament till now. In the first match of the tournament, the Kiwis defeated the defending champions England by a huge margin. The Blackcaps beat England comfortably by 9 wickets. In the second match, New Zealand overcame the Netherlands in Hyderabad. In the third match, New Zealand defeated Bangladesh and extended their winning streak.

In the fourth match of the tournament, New Zealand defeated Afghanistan by a huge margin. Till that point, New Zealand had not lost a match in the tournament. Unfortunately, New Zealand missed the services of their talismanic Kane Williamson in the matches against Afghanistan and India. It probably hampered the chance of New Zealand, particularly against India, where they needed the tactical brilliance of Kane.

New Zealand is still in Dharamshala after the match against India. During their stay in the beautiful city, the Kiwi players visited the residence of the Dalai Lama, who is considered the epitome of calmness. Lama is a Buddhist monk, who came to India early after India’s independence and has settled here since then. The Buddhist monk often has a lot of visitors. New Zealand players were his guests, which led to a beautiful moment.

Much like Lama. the team of New Zealand is considered to be a calm one, with players who are generally associated as ‘Nice guys’. The Kiwi players visited the residence of Lama and interacted with him. The likes of Kane Williamson, James Neesham, Rachin Ravindra, and others were seen in his residence. The players then had a photograph with Lama, which has now gone viral on the internet.
