Former England skipper Nasser Hussain hits back at opener Ben Duckett for his comments after the Rajkot Test. The left-handed opening batter hinted at BazBall playing a role in Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring his double ton.

India’s opener Yashasvi Jaiswal had scored a terrific 214 not out in the second innings of the 3rd Test. This helped India post a huge target of 557 on the board for England to chase. Ravindra Jadeja’s 5 wickets helped India to win the match by 434 runs and take a 2-1 lead in the series.

At the end of the Rajkot Test, Ben Duckett said, “When you see people from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they are playing differently than how other people play Test cricket.”

Nasser Hussain hits back at Ben Duckett

The statement made by Ben Duckett about Indian batter Yashasvi Jaiswal didn’t sit down well with Nasser Hussain. The former England was chatting with his former teammate and current broadcast colleague Michael Atherton.

Nasser Hussain while speaking on Sky Sports said, “He hasn’t learnt from you. He has learnt from his upbringing, all the hard yard he had to put in growing up. If anything, lads, look at him and learn from him. I hope there is a little bit of self-introspection going on. Otherwise, it becomes a cult. At times BazBall and this regime have been described as such, where you cannot criticize within or externally.”

Ben Stokes the England skipper has come under heavy fire from the media back in the UK. Many have urged the England team to ditch the BazBall tactics and play according to the situation.

Michael Vaughan had criticized Joe Root after his shot in the first innings of the 3rd Test. England’s leading run-scorer in the Test had tried to play a reverse scoop and gave a catch to Jaiswal. Jasprit Bumrah got the big wicket of Joe Root for the ninth time in Test cricket.

KL Rahul is set to be back after he has fully recovered from his fitness issues. Rajat Patidar is the man who is set to make way for the 31-year-old. The team has also decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah for the 4th Test to manage his workload. James Anderson is another name that could be missing the Ranchi Test which begins this Friday.
