India and Australia are clashing against each other in the 1st ODI of the 3-match ODI series at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on Friday, September 22. India’s skipper KL Rahul, who is leading the side in the absence of Rohit Sharma, decided to bowl first.

And India’s premium fast bowler Mohammed Shami proved the decision right as he dismissed the dangerous opening batter Mitchell Marsh in the 4th ball of the 1st innings. It was a beautiful delivery from Shami, a good length delivery in the middle, shaped away just a touch after pitching and Marsh had already committed to a front-foot defence. The ball did just enough to find the edge and it went to Shubman Gill at 1st slip and he caught it quite comfortably.

Interestingly, Marsh smashed Shami for a beautiful shot in the 2nd ball of the over which went for a four at point. However, Shami made a brilliant comeback in the 4th delivery and got rid of Marsh before he could provide more harm to the Indian bowlers in the mandatory powerplay.
