Shubman Gill can dethrone Babar Azam as No. 1 ODI batter, Here’s how

India’s opening batter Shubman Gill can become the number one ODI batter after the ODI series against Australia. Currently, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam is currently topping the table. However, after crashing out of the Asia Cup 2023, Pakistan will play their next game only in the World Cup 2023. On the other hand, the Men In Blue will host the Aussies for three ODIs.

During the series, Gill needs to score 200 runs in three games to topple Azam. During the continental tournament, the Pakistan skipper scored 151 not out against Nepal. Apart from this, he failed to cross fifty against teams such as Bangladesh, India, and Sri Lanka. On the other hand, Gill scored a hundred against Bangladesh and two fifties, one each against Pakistan and Nepal.
