After the ODI World Cup 2023 game between arch-rivals, India and Pakistan, the Green Brigade team director Mickey Arthur made some interesting statements. Apparently, due to visa issues and the fact that both nations don’t share the best of relationships politically, only a limited number of fans have been given visas. Arthur pointed out the same after his side was beaten by seven wickets and a little less than 20 overs to spare.

“It didn’t seem like a World event to be brutally honest. It seemed like a bilateral series; it seemed like a bilateral event. I didn’t hear Dil Dil Pakistan coming through the microphones too often tonight,” he said.

Meanwhile, on another cricketing platform, former Australia wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist and former England skipper Michael Vaughan were having a chat about India’s dream form in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. The two-time World Cup winners are yet to lose a game after playing four games, having thrashed the likes of Australia, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

While Gilchrist praised India skipper Rohit Sharma for his tactics, Vaughan was at his sarcastic best
“Gilly, you are absolutely spot on about Rohit. His tactical awareness out in the middle, just managing the players, as you mentioned [Mohammed] Siraj, giving him an extra over just to give him a boost.”
“But his best move without doubt, the move that won the game and the Pakistan coach alluded to it afterwards, is Rohit obviously said to the DJ, just do not play ‘Dil, Dil, Pakistan’. If you play, Pakistan will win. Do not play that song. Make sure that they don’t hear that inspirational song. That was clever from Rohit. Most captains don’t think about things like that – DJs, music. Rohit is ahead of his time,” the former England captain added.
