Faf Du Plessis claimed a stunning catch to get rid of Dewald Brevis in SA20 2024. The skipper of Joburg Super Kings took a screamer going against the motion to grab a one-handed catch to dismiss the youngster. The match situation was not ideal for the fielding side to dismiss the batter the way they did. However, Faf and co would take it any day.

It was a slower delivery outside off from Lizaad Williams. Dewald Brevis was looking to give it a smash. But the variation meant that the youngster could not get the required elevation to it. The ball went high in the air and travelled towards long off outside the 30-year circle. Faf had stationed himself inside the circle and had to go a long way to reach closer to the ball.

The JSK skipper showed why he’s regarded as one of the best fielders in the world.

MI Cape Town dominated the game

Before Du Plessis could pull off the stunning feat, MI Cape Town displayed incredible batsmanship. The opening duo of Rassie Van Der Dussen and Ryan Rickleton batted very well and framed a mammoth partnership of 200 runs for the opening wicket. While Rassie scored 104 runs, Ryan missed the 2nd hundred of the season in a row to register 98 runs. The Southpaw though impressed everyone with his batting.

When Brevis was dismissed, the score was 208/2. In the last 20 balls of the innings, MICT added 35 more runs. The knocks of the two openers meant that MICT posted a mammoth total of 243 runs on the board. Chasing it, JSK have been in huge trouble, as they find themselves at 104/7. At this point, the match looks nearly done and dusted for the chasing side.
