Afghanistan witnessed a tragic earthquake that claimed reportedly more than 2,000 lives in the western provinces (Herat, Farah and Badghis) of the country on Saturday, October 7. In order to pay tribute to the victims, the Afghanistan cricket team donned a black armband in the ODI World Cup clash against India on October 11.
Meanwhile, in a heartwarming display of unity and compassion, Bollywood actor, who is also known for his social services, Sonu Sood and Afghanistan cricket sensation Rashid Khan have joined hands to raise funds for the earthquake victims in Afghanistan. This dynamic duo, each a hero in their own right, has embarked on a mission to support those who have been affected by the recent devastating earthquakes in Afghanistan. Earlier, Rashid also announced that whatever he will earn during the ODI World Cup 2023, including his match fees, he will donate the entire amount to the victims who are having a really bad time in their lives.
“I learned with great sadness about the tragic consequences of the earthquake that struck the western provinces (Herat, Farah, and Badghis) of Afghanistan. I am donating all of my World Cup match fees to help the affected people. Soon, we will be launching a fundraising campaign to call upon those who can support the people in need,”
