A funny incident took place on the first day of the first Test between India and England at Hyderabad. The match saw India dominating the first Day of the Test match as the home side managed to progress well and very quickly. India reduced England to a score of 246 runs in their first innings. Replying to it, the Indian opening batters were all over the bowlers.

The duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma were aggressive against the spinners and made their life difficult. The likes of Tom Hartley and Jack Leach could not bowl well in the match. They were either too full or too short. the right length was not found by the spinners and the batters took full advantage of the error in line and lengths from the spinners.

During the Indian innings, a funny incident took place. As Mark Wood delivered the ball, Rohit glanced it towards the square leg region. The fielder tried to throw the ball toward the keeper’s end. As Jaiswal reached the crease in time, the ball reached the keeper’s end. In an attempt to catch the ball as soon as possible, Foakes tried to get towards the point of impact.

Foakes did not realize that he was close towards the stumps. As a result, he ended up falling on the wickets, resulting in the uprooting of all three stumps. The fielders and the opposition batters found the incident funny and laughed about it. Foakes was not too happy about his failure to catch the ball. The fielders and Ben Stokes consoled Foakes and asked him not to worry.

Later on, Yashasvi went on to play a good knock. Against an attack that did not threaten him much, the Southpaw scored runs for fun at a good rate. The Indian opener scored his fifty in just 47 balls. The star batter scored a lot of boundaries and ensured that India batted at a good rate to stay ahead of the match against England.
