Former India skipper Virat Kohli scored an interesting hundred against Bangladesh in the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. When he came out to bat, Hasan Mehmud bowled two back-to-back no-balls and as many free hits. Kohli milked 14 runs off that misery. In the end, when the two-time winners needed 26 runs, Kohli needed as many runs to get his hundred.

At this stage, KL Rahul, who was batting at the other end, wasn’t at the striking end for many balls. On the other hand, there was a time when both players denied singles. In the end, the former India skipper managed to get his 48th ODI hundred, scoring all the required runs. With this, he managed to get his first World Cup hundred after 2015.

Sorry for stealing Ravindra Jadeja’s award: Virat Kohli

After the game, the Royal Challengers Bangalore player was adjudged the Player of the Match. Apparently, one of the commentators revealed that they were considering giving it to Ravindra Jadeja.

“Sorry for stealing it (the player of the Match award) from Jaddu. I wanted to make a big contribution. Have made fifties in World Cups, wanted to finish it off this time. (Free hits to start off) I was telling Shubman that even if you dream about this situation, you go back to sleep. It was a dream start. It just calms you down. The pitch was good, allowed me to play my game – hit the gaps and find the boundaries whenever I could. Great atmosphere in the dressing room. The spirit is there for everyone to see. You need to create some momentum in the changing room to come out and play like this. Special feeling to play in front of such crowds,” Player of the Match Virat said in the post-match.
