‘Two superstars’ – Fans react to visuals of David Beckham and Virat Kohli playing football

Former England and Manchester United legend David Beckham is in India on a three-day tour. The 48-year-old is in Mumbai to watch the ODI World Cup semi-final game between India and New Zealand on Wednesday.

Ahead of the game, the former football legend was seen chatting with Sachin Tendulkar. The two could be seen exchanging pleasantries followed by a warm chat. That’s when the attention turned to a little football duel between Virat Kohli and David Beckham.

Rohit Sharma won the toss which was accompanied by a huge cheer and chose to bat first. Even Kane Williamson had wanted to bat first despite the chances of Dew being present in the latter half of the game. Both sided did not make any changes to their playing XI from their last game.

David Beckham and Virat Kohli seen playing football –

Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was warming up along with the rest of the Indian team. That’s when he spotted former football great David Beckham in conversation with the great Sachin Tendulkar. Virat Kohli caught the attention of David Beckham and kicked the ball as David Beckham came up with a perfect return.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma did not waste time in choosing to bat first after winning the toss. The Indian skipper while speaking to Ravi Shastri at the toss said “We would have batted first. Looks like a used pitch. We would want to do well with the ball and then hopefully, some dew later. Amazing occasion. Four years ago, similar situation but a different location. They have been playing some good cricket. Always a building phase between the tournaments. Need to assess what is in front of you when the tournament starts”

India and New Zealand had met each other during the group phases in Dharamshala as the men in blue won the game by 6 wickets. Virat Kohli had scored 95 runs in a tense chase after Daryl Mitchell had scored a memorable century.
