Australia have been one of the most competitive sides in India in Test cricket. In the last 20 years, only Australia have won a Test series in India along with England. In the last 10 years, only Australia have managed to win a Test match in India. They did it in two instances, once in Pune in 2017 and recently in Ranchi in 2023. Australia has 14 wins to their name in 47 Test matches in India, which is the joint 2nd highest for a team.

England has the greatest number of Test wins in India for a visiting side. They were tied with Australia and the WI with 14 wins to their name before winning at Hyderabad. With their latest win, England now have 15 wins to their name in 65 Test matches in India, which is the highest for a team. England are the only other team than Australia to win two Test matches in India in the last 10 years. They would be hoping to improve the record in the days to come.
