‘Tabhi mila tha Shah Rukh se’ – Fans react as Gautam Gambhir likely to join Kolkata Knight Riders, reportedly in talks with Shah Rukh Khan at Mannat

Reports circulated after IPL 2023 that Gautam Gambhir might make a comeback to Kolkata Knight Riders in the coaching setup. But, it all turned out to be false rumours as his current franchise, Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) confirmed his stay as the mentor of the side for the next season. But, he hit the headlines on 21 September 2023 by sharing an image of him meeting with Shah Rukh Khan. 

Gambhir wrote: “He’s not just the king of Bollywood but the king of hearts. Every time we meet I go back with endless love and respect. So much to learn from u. Simply the best SRK @iamsrk.” Things became more suspicious for fans when the skipper of KKR in the last edition, Nitish Rana came up with a cheeky tweet in response to that post. He wrote: “True kings in their own fields! Could this be a sign of a homecoming? Just wondering.” 

Now, reports have come out that Gautam Gambhir has already held talks with the Bollywood Superstar, Shah Rukh Khan at his house, Mannat regarding his future with KKR. He might make a comeback in the franchise in the support staff. Listening to such reports, fans went crazy as many KKR fans have always wanted to see him making a comeback in the team in any role.

Gautam Gambhir led KKR to two IPL titles

During the IPL 2023, when LSG took on KKR at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata, many fans came up with banners, saying: “Bring back GG to KKR.” Gambhir also  shared some images with a caption that reads: “You know how much I love you Kolkata!” Under Gambhir’s captaincy, KKR won two IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 respectively. He was a part of that franchise from 2011 to 2017. Gambhir and Shah Rukh have always enjoyed a great bond since their KKR days between them as Shah Rukh is still one of the co-owners of the Kolkata-based franchise.
