Sunny Deol’s much-awaited ‘Gadar 2’ set to storm OTT screens as release date and platform gets revealed

Bollywood fans are getting ready for a cinematic extravaganza as Sunny Deol’s much-anticipated INR 500 crore sequel, Gadar 2, is all set to premiere on an OTT platform. This announcement has sent waves of excitement among fans who have been eagerly waiting to witness the next chapter of this iconic franchise.

The movie is set to be premiered on October 6 on the popular OTT platform Zee5 and the anticipation is already building as fans speculate about the explosive action and compelling drama that will unfold. Sunny Deol‘s charismatic portrayal of Tara Singh is expected to once again captivate audiences as it has already garnered lots of love from the theatre audience.

Recently, the creators of Gadar 2 hosted a lavish success celebration in Mumbai, attended by prominent actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Varun Dhawan, Dharmendra, Sidharth Malhotra, Kiara Advani, and Shilpa Shetty, among others.

“I was quite stressed over the period of time and when this film hit the cinema halls, I don’t know why it felt like God came inside me. I was crying and laughing all night and evening. I also met my father (Dharmendra) and said no I am not drunk, I am happy what do I do.”

Gadar 2 is based on India’s partition in 1947

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Gadar 2 raked in an impressive INR 40 crore on its opening day in theatres, making it the third-highest opening day earner of 2023, following Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Jawan.

Talking about the movie, Gadar 2 is the sequel to the popular film released in 2001. In this movie, Sunny Deol reprised his role as Tara, a truck driver, and Ameesha Patel portrayed Sakina. The story is set against the backdrop of India’s partition in 1947. The film also starred Manish Wadhwa, Gaurav Chopra and Simrat Kaur.
