A brilliant all-round performance by India in the final

Smriti is the Indian cricket team’s vice-captain and she also led the team in some of the matches in the Asian Games 2023 as the team’s regular skipper Harmanpreet was running out of the squad due to injury. Smriti impressed a lot with his captaincy skills, she also played a major role in India’s victory in the final match.

The left-handed opener scored 46 runs off 45 balls which included 4 fours and 1 six. Apart from her, Jemimah Rodrigues was the only batter to get a double-digit score. Rodrigues played a brilliant inning of 42 runs of 40 balls including 5 fours and the team could able to score only 116 runs in 20 overs.

However, India’s talented bowler Titas Sidhu made sure to provide India with initial breakthroughs as she dismissed 3 Sri Lankan batters on the score of just 14 runs. Indian bowlers kept the line and length very tight and didn’t let the batters score easily due to which they fell 19 runs short of the target.
