Harmanpreet Kaur had blamed Shreyanka Patil for the loss of the team in the second T20I against Australia. The Indian captain expressed that the youngster could have bowled better in the 19th over of the game and believed that by doing so, India could have won the game. The statement of Kaur has not gone well with the fans, who have pointed out the irony.

India managed to post 130 runs on the board after batting first. Harmanpreet was herself able to score 6 runs in 12 balls, which was pointed out later by the fans. Chasing the target, Australia needed just 15 runs in 12 balls. At that point, Harmanpreet gave a spinner to bowl the crucial 19th over against two set batters like Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry.

It is considered a bad decision to give a death over for a spinner to bowl. In that way, the captain was wrong in giving her spinner the responsibility to defend the total. The fans pointed it out along with the fact that she could not perform as a batter. Shreyanka did concede 19 runs in the 19th over of the game. “We took the game till the 19th over, which was the biggest positive. In the 19th over, if Shreyanka Patil was on target, it would have made a huge difference for us,” claimed Kaur after the match.
