Shaheen Afridi spoke about the potential return of Mohammad Amir to Pakistan. It has been a long time since Amir last played a match for Pakistan. After the ODI WC 2019, the left-arm pacer has not played as many games for his national team. Due to the frustration of not getting picked by Pakistan in the last few years, Amir decided to retire from cricket.

The decision of the Pakistan pacer did not go well with the fans back in time who complained about the people in power being corrupt and egoistic. There has been a request from the fans for Amir to return to Pakistan. The same is being conveyed to Shaheen, the current Pakistani skipper in the T20Is. The young pacer has spoken about the same.

In an interview recently, Afridi was asked about his opinion on the return of Amir. This is because the T20 WC 2024 is just a few months away from starting, and Shaheen will have to make a quick decision on it. The left-arm pacer gave his opinion on the return of Amir in the interview. Shaheen claimed that he would talk to Amir regarding his availability to play.

I will talk to Mohammad Amir if he’s available to come back for Pakistan once again’ – Shaheen Afridi

Shaheen wished to see Amir playing for Pakistan in the T20 WC 2024. The 23-year-old claimed that he and Amir played together for nearly five years. Shaheen added that it was a good experience for him to bowl with Amir and added that their partnership was good. Amir was very good in the ODI World Cup 2019 for Pakistan where he and Shaheen were the top two wicket-takers for the side.

“I will talk to Mohammad Amir if he’s available to come back to Pakistan once again. Amir and I bowled together after almost 5 years. It was a very good experience to bowl with him, our partnership was great,” said Shaheen. Amir has good stats playing for Pakistan. He has 119 wickets in Tests, 81 wickets in ODIs, and 59 wickets in T20Is. The left-arm pacer is a genuine wicket taker.
