A Haryana cricketer gets caught by police in Delhi airport. The cricketer named Mrinank Singh was arrested by the police in Delhi airport as he had duped around 1.63 Cr from Rishabh Pant in the period 2020-21. The 25-year-old did not just cheat Pant but had also cheated Taj Hotels by stealing a money of INR 5.5 lakhs in the period 2020 to 2022 through various illegal practices.

Mrinank Singh had represented Haryana at the under 19 level in the past. On Monday, the Delhi police arrested him in the airport who was trying to flee to Hong Kong. In 2022, Pant’s lawyer named Ekalavya Dwivedi had mentioned in an interview that the Indian WK batter had started a side business that involved business of luxury products that could brought at a reasonable price.

Reports claimed that Pant had sent an undisclosable amount of money to Mrinank who had faked his identity to take money from the Indian cricketer. Reports claim that Pant had also sent jewelry to buy the products like expensive watches. When Mrinank informed him through phone call after receiving money that Pant could not get the products, Pant asked him to pay the money back.

Fraud of INR 1.63 crores

Pant issued a legal notice to Singh over the issue and asked him to pay back the money. Mrinank again tricked Pant by giving a cheque as a mode of payment. When the Indian cricketer tried to withdraw the money, he was unable to do so as there were insufficient funds. It is further reported that Singh had not paid an amount of INR 5.53 lakhs for Taj Hotel after staying there in July 2022.

The hotel management asked Mrinank to pay the bill. Mrinank tricked them saying that he paid them and sent a transaction ID. When the hotel management verified it, there was no payment being done. On Monday, Mrinank tried to flee to Hong Kong with a brilliant plan. The Haryana cricketer posed himself as a Karnataka police named Alok Kumar. But he was caught by the immigration officers in Delhi airport, who handed him over to Delhi police.
