Ever since the SA20 league came into existence there has been a lot of hype in South Africa. Mark Boucher, who is the coach of the team Mumbai Indians in the IPL has expressed his opinion on Rohit Sharma.

It is a well-known fact that the Indian Cricket Board doesn’t let its players participate in foreign leagues. With all six SA 20 teams that are owned by IPL owners, there are calls for some Indian player’s inclusion.

Just a few days ago AB De Villiers spoke about the need to bring MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli to the league. The former South African legendary batters want the two Indian stalwarts to finish their career in SA20.

Former South African wicketkeeper Mark Boucher was asked if Rohit Sharma will ever play in the SA 20 league. The 47-year-old had put the onus on the Indian Cricket Board to see India’s skipper playing in the SA20 league.

Speaking to the Hindustan Times, Boucher said, “I think it’ll be unbelievable if we got some of the Indian players involved. I don’t know, it’s probably above my pay grade to make those decisions. I know that a lot of the Indian players don’t play in any of the leagues around the world other than the IPL.”

Further stressing his point, Boucher continued and said, “But yes, you’re right. It would be fantastic to see some of the top Indian players playing in the South African league. It would definitely boost our league to a different level, as I’m sure there might be a lot of other countries who have gotten their own home leagues that they would love Indian guys to play in their leagues as well.

AB De Villiers too wants to see MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli finish their careers in SA 20. The 39-year-old said to the digital wing of Hindustan Times, “It’s definitely worth trying to get guys like MS and Virat perhaps playing in their final seasons there. We’ll look after them, you know.”

It is to be seen if the Indian Board allows the superstars to venture into the SA20 tournament. With the IPL owner’s presence in the league, there has been an argument to let a few Indians participate. But the Indian Board has stood steadfast and not budged from its stance.
