Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is one the most prominent fast bowler India have ever produced. The Yorker specialist has won multiple games for the Indian team in the past. He has been phenomenal in all three formats of the game. He also has a brilliant record in the Indian Premier League as well.

However, Bumrah has been recovering from an injury that he sustained last year during the Asia Cup 2022. Since then, he has missed multiple tournaments like Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the WTC final in 2023 and many more. Meanwhile, Indian team skipper Rohit Sharma recently talked about Bumrah’s participation in the upcoming T20I series against Ireland in August.

“The amount of experience he (Bumrah) brings is very important. Right now he’s coming from a serious injury and I’ve no idea if he’ll travel to Ireland because the team hasn’t been announced yet,” Burmah was quoted as saying by India Today.

We are in constant touch with the NCA: Rohit Sharma

Rohit further added and said it will be good for the Indian team if Bumrah gets fit to play in the World Cup. However, Rohit also said the management is in constant touch with the NCA about Bumrah’s injury update and things are looking quite positive at this moment.

“If he gets to play then it’s good and we hope he plays before the World Cup. When a player returns from a serious injury, match fitness, match feeling are some key components, which are missing. We’ll see what has been planned and everything depends on his recovery. We are in constant touch with the NCA and things look positive at the moment.” Rohit added.

Talking about Rohit, he was in tremendous form in the recently concluded 2-match Test series against West Indies where he smashed 2 half-centuries and a century. It’d be great if he continues his form in the ODI series as well considering the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.
