Rahul Dravid takes on former teammate Sourav Ganguly for his opinion on Indian pitches

Rahul Dravid has reacted to Sourav Ganguly’s statement on the Indian pitches. As India won the Test match against England at Vizag, Dravid appeared in the press conference. In the arena. The Indian Head coach was asked about the statement of Ganguly on the Indian pitches. Ganguly took to X and spoke about the nature of the Indian pitches in recent times. 

As Jasprit Bumrah claimed a 6-wicket haul in the 1st innings, Ganguly wondered why India prepared rank turners in recent times, Sourav believed the pacers like Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Mohammad Siraj, and Mukesh Kumar could run through the batters of the opposition now and then. He hence felt that India need not prepare rank turners to win at home. 

Reacting to the same, Dravid has said that preparing the wickets is not in their hands. He added that the curators prepare the wickets they want. The Indian Coach added that the wickets in India would turn but claimed that he did not know how much they would turn. The former Indian skipper felt that every wicket in India is unique in its way.

The former Indian batter claimed that some wickets might turn right from the first day and others might turn from the 2nd day. Dravid added that some of the wickets might turn from the third day. He added that there would be wickets that do not turn at all. Dravid felt that the wicket at Rajkot could be different than the ones in the series till now. 

Dravid then added, “So, I’m sometimes as clueless as anybody else. We look at the wicket and we try and do the best we can on what we get. We go to Rajkot; we’ll see what we can get and play with whatever we get in front of,” the Indian Head coach said. India is set to announce its squad for the last three Tests of the series soon.
