India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has responded to former India all-rounder Kapil Dev’s recent statements. Apparently, the latter came down hard on a current lot of players. The 1983 World Cup-winning skipper said that the current players think that they know everything. He added that the players must take advice from former India cricketers.

“Differences come out, the good (thing) about these players…is that they are very confident. Negative point is they think they know everything. I don’t know how to put it better than that. But they are confident, but they think ‘you don’t have to ask anybody’. What we believe is an experienced person can help you,” Kapil Dev said while talking to The Wire.

Dev added that players getting too much money has led to players becoming arrogant. The all-rounder further added that the players can take advice from another legend, Sunil Gavaskar.

“Sometimes, when there is too much money, arrogance comes. These cricketers think they know everything. That’s the difference. I would say there are so many cricketers who need help. When Sunil Gavaskar is there, why can’t you talk? Where is the ego? There is no ego as such. They feel ‘we are good enough’. Maybe they are good enough, but extra help from somebody who has seen 50 seasons of cricket; he knows things. Listening sometimes can change your thought,” he added.

Everyone has their own opinion: Ravindra Jadeja

Meanwhile, ahead of the third ODI between West Indies and India, Jadeja has responded by saying that everyone has their own opinion but the team doesn’t have any arrogance among the players.

“I don’t know when he has said this. I don’t search these things on social media. See everyone has their own opinion. Ex-player have full right to share their opinion, but I don’t think there is any arrogance in this team,” Jadeja told reporters ahead of the third and final ODI against West Indies.
