‘Pura Nepal idhar e distract ho gaya’ – Fans react to Pakistan Sports presenter, Roha Nadeem’s gratitude post after hosting Asia Cup 2023 curtain raiser
The 16th edition of the Asia Cup began on 30 August 2023 in Multan Cricket Stadium as Pakistan took on Nepal in the tournament opener. It was a big opportunity for Nepal as it was the first time they are playing in this tournament. However, the Men in Green were looking for a winning start as it was their first match after becoming the new number-one ranked team in ODIs.
Meanwhile, an opening ceremony took place before the start of the match and there, Pakistan’s Sports Presenter, Roha Nadeem was seen hosting the curtain raiser. She also came up with a gratitude post on her Twitter account and in reply to that, fans congratulated him and shared their views. Even, the former Pakistan international, Rashid Latif was seen with a comment as he wrote: “Many Congratulations and you belong to this place ..”

Pakistan scored 342 runs for six wickets in the Asia Cup 2023 opener
Nadeem wrote: “Truly honoured to be your host for the Asia Cup 2023 curtain raiser. After 15 years this historic cup comes back to Pakistan soil. Glorious moment. #multan.” Speaking of the match, Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first. However, the home team lost two quick wickets but the Number-one ranked ODI batter showed his class once again.
He notched up his 19th ODI ton in some style and then, unleashed his big-hitting skills at the death overs. Iftikhar Ahmed also smashed a century and both of them put up a mammoth partnership of 214 runs for the fifth wicket. Babar finally got out on 151 runs off 131 balls, including 14 fours and four sixes. Iftikar remained not out on 109* runs off 71 balls, including 11 fours and four sixes as Pakistan scored 342 runs for six wickets in 50 overs. For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took one wicket each while Sompal Kami grabbed two wickets for 85 runs in his 10 overs.
