It won’t be wrong to say that the rivalry between India and Pakistan is one of the biggest rivalries in the history of cricket. There is always a supreme level of excitement among the fans whenever these teams clash against each other. However, ever since the political tension between the two teams increased, fans rarely get to see matches between India and Pakistan.

But the fans, former players and even current players from both teams sometimes make harsh statements against their rival. Meanwhile, Pakistan middle-order batter Iftikhar Ahmed recently slammed a Twitter user for spreading hate between India and Pakistan. The user claimed that Ahmed made a statement which says, “Whenever we have a match against India, it feels like we are playing against street’s children.”

Ahmed took to Twitter and slammed the user. The right-hander said that he never made such a statement and in fact, no professional cricketer in the world would make these types of statements for their opponents. He even asked Twitter owner, Elon Musk to ban that account immediately.

“I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate. @X @elonmusk please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick.”

There’s always pressure while finishing games: Iftikhar Ahmed

Ahmed will be seen in action in the upcoming Asia Cup and is also likely to play in the ODI World Cup 2023 as well. He was last seen playing for Colombo Strikers in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL), however, his team failed to qualify for the playoffs which also include Babar Azam as well. Ahmed recently talked about remaining calm during a match against India in last year’s Asia Cup where hit the winning runs for Pakistan.

“There’s always pressure while finishing games and as a senior batter, it is your responsibility to go out there and get the job done for the team. In that match (against India in Asia Cup), we needed just two runs from two balls. Although there was pressure, I had faith in my abilities and told Khushdil the same thing at the other end: don’t worry; we will get the job done.” Ahmed was quoted as saying by Sportskeeda.
