Mullanpur Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is likely to host IPL 2024 matches for Punjab Kings. The Northern Indian franchise has got a new stadium where they are likely to play as a home side in the 17th edition of the biggest cricket league. While nothing is confirmed yet, the stadium might well be one of the contenders to host PBKS given its facilities offer.

Dilsher Khanna, the Secretary of Punjab Cricket Association. spoke to a news agency and said that the officials have visited the new stadium to see whether it is capable of hosting the matches. It is observed that the stadium has several finishing works pending to be done. As a result, there is a confirmation of the fact that the stadium would not be hosting a T20I game against Afghanistan.

It was recently reported that the stadium might host a match against Afghanistan in the T20I series. While the match against Afghanistan might not be a reality, the fans can hope to see the stadium hosting PBKS for IPL 2024, which is very much possible. After Mohali, Dharamshala, Indore, and Cuttack, Mullanpur will become the next stadium to host PBKS in the IPL.

Mullanpur Stadium’s information

Mullanpur Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is located in Mullanpur village which belongs to Mohali in Punjab. Back in 2011, the foundation stone for the same was laid. In 2021, the stadium was established. It has taken more than 2 years for the stadium to become close to being operational to host matches at the highest level in the sport. The stadium boasts of providing world-class facilities for the players.

The stadium is built at a huge cost of INR 230 crores. The area of the land used for the construction is estimated at 41.95 acres.
