India’s young and sensational batter Shubman Gill got selected in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. He will be seen opening with Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Gill hasn’t played many ODI innings with Rohit but he has played a decent amount of Test matches while opening with Rohit.

Both Rohit and Gill’s natural style of play is aggressive which will help the Indian team to get some big runs in the powerplay overs. Meanwhile, Gill recently talked about Rohit in the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards 2023 and revealed that the Indian skipper is a great dancer and will be seen shaking his legs in an Instagram reel soon.

“Rohit bhai is a great dancer, we will see him in a reel soon.” Gill said in the event.

The Indian Cricket Board announced India’s squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 on Monday, August 21. Interestingly, Gill wasn’t included in the squad which was released by the officials by later it was revealed because of some technical issue his name wasn’t included in it. However, the officials posted a final squad in which Gill was included.

Talking about Gill, he recently won some prestigious awards because of his magnificent batting performance this year. The 23-year-old batter received the CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year award, the CEAT International Batter of the Year award, and the CEAT ODI Batter of the Year award. He expressed his feelings after receiving the awards and said that he always pushes himself to do well for the team and reach new heights.

“I’m honoured to be selected as the recipient of the coveted CEAT Men’s International Cricketer of the Year. As a cricketer, it’s always about pushing boundaries, facing challenges head-on, and constantly improving to reach new heights. This recognition reinforces the parallel between our commitment to excellence and would encourage me to strive harder,” Gill was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
