Kevin Pietersen took to X and praised the performance of England on the 3rd day of the 1st Test against India. As the home side ended the 2nd day of the Hyderabad Test with a score of 421/7, England needed to make a steady comeback in the match. The visiting side did exactly that and ensured that they remained alive in the game with a good performance with the bat.

On the 3rd day of the Test, England dismissed the Indian batters early for a score of 436 runs. They ended up finishing the day with a score of 316/6 on the board. Kevin praised the performance of England on the day by taking to his social media account. The former England batter claimed that a true Test cricket lover would appreciate the performance of England on the day.

Kevin added that irrespective of the country one belongs to, one would appreciate the performance of Pope and co for being able to keep their side alive in the game. Pietersen hoped for a tight finish for the match. “If you’re a lover of Test cricket, no matter if you’re English or Indian, we should all love the fact that England have a lead and we’re hopefully in for a tight finish tomorrow. #INDvENG,” wrote Pietersen on X.

Ollie Pope shines with the bat for England

The 3rd day belonged to England and more so to Pope. The English no.3 was brilliant in his stay in the middle and helped England to make a good comeback in the match. The talented batter is yet to be dismissed and has added 148 runs with 17 boundaries to his name. Pope was brilliant with his reverse sweep and troubled the Indian bowlers barring Jasprit Bumrah.

The likes of Ben Foakes, Zack Crawley, and Ben Duckett also batted well for England and helped their side to be alive in the game. Pietersen appreciated their performance and hoped for a good day four for Test cricket and England.  India would be hoping to make inroads into the Test by dismissing England early in the 4th day.
