Pankaj Tripathi Birthday Special: The mystery behind Pankaj Tripathi’s two birthdays!

Today marks Pankaj Tripathi’s birthday. Did you know, though, that the actor has two birth dates and that September 5 is not his true birth date? On September 28, 1976, the actor was born. On formal documents, however, his birth date is shown as September 5.

Pankaj previously disclosed the explanation behind his two birth dates in an interview with content creator Samdish Bhatia. When the host inquired about his birthday, the ‘Fukrey’ singer replied, “I have two birthday dates, one on September 5 and the other on September 28. On September 28, 1976, I was born. So my actual birthday is September 28. My brother, on the other hand, had gone while registering for school as a child. The teacher there inquired about my birth date from my brother. He couldn’t recall anything at the time.”

Pankaj Tripathi gets candid:

He further added, “At school, my brother told the teacher that he remembers the month, September, but not the date. So, since he couldn’t recall the date, the teacher suggested that he retain September 5 as a nice day. Today is both Teacher’s Day and Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday. So they scheduled it for September 5.”

Meanwhile, Pankaj Tripathi recently won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his part in the film ‘Mimi,’ in which he co-starred with Kriti Sanon, who also got the award for Best Actress. Previously, the actor won a special mention for his work in the film ‘Newton’ at the 2018 National Awards.

In 2012, he made his big screen debut as Sultan in the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ flicks. Tripathi rose to prominence following the release of the ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’ films. Since then, he has appeared in films like ‘Fukrey,’ ‘Nil Battey Sannata,’ ‘Newton,’ ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi,’ ‘Stree,’ ‘Luka Chuppi,’ ‘The Tashkent Files,’ ‘Gunjan Saxena,’ ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’, and many others.

Tripathi was most recently seen in ‘OMG 2’ with Akshay Kumar and Yami Gautam. The picture got into difficulties with the CBFC, but the audience adored it for its daring subject. The actor will next be seen in ‘Fukrey 3’, which will be released in theatres on September 28.
