India’s veteran right-handed batter KL Rahul is set to make his comeback after recovering from an injury. Rahul will be seen playing in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. It is to expected that the right-handed batter will be batting in the middle order for the Indian team.

Rahul wasn’t in great form during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 and even prior to the tournament. Due to this, he was getting criticised for his poor batting display. One of Rahul’s criticiser was former Indian cricketer Venkatesh Prasad who often takes to social media and criticises the batter.

Meanwhile, Prasad recently shared a picture on his Twitter account in which Rahul’s father-in-law and veteran Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty can also be seen. Prasad wrote in the caption that he visited the Swami Narayan Temple in New Jersey with Suniel where he secretly prayed for Rahul to do well in the upcoming ODI World Cup.

“Visited the Swami Narayan temple in New Jersey with Anna. Prayed for the well-being of all Bharatvasis & for the Indian Team to do well in the World Cup. Also secretly prayed for KL to smash it to all corners, have a great world cup, and silence his critics like me. Sab khush rahein. (Hope everybody is happy).” Prasad wrote in a tweet.

KL Rahul played his last ODI match earlier this year in March

Interestingly, Prasad has criticised and raised questions about Rahul’s batting many times. He leaves no chance to troll the batter, however, Suniel was also involved in it once and took a dig at Prasad. He said, “Upar wala jab hai na bahar koi kuch bhi bole (When God is with you, it does not matter what the outsiders say).”

Rahul was last seen in an ODI match against Australia on March 22 where he scored only 32 runs. Rahul was struggling a lot while playing against spinner which can be a major concern for the team as the Asia Cup is set to be hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka while the ODI World Cup will be hosted by India.
