It won’t be wrong to say that Mumbai Indians (MI) are the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League. The team have won 5 IPL title under the veteran Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma. However, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) equalled their record as they also won their 5th IPL title earlier this year.

Meanwhile, former legendary Sri Lankan fast bowler Lasith Malinga, who has played an important role in almost all of MI’s IPL title victories, has replaced Shane Bond as MI’s bowling coach for the 17th edition of the cash-rich league. Malinga’s return to the MI camp will be very beneficial for all the young players of Mumbai Indians.

The legendary bowler then joined Rajasthan Royals as their bowling coach for the 2022 and 2023 editions.

The presence and guidance of Malinga will help young bowlers like Akash Madhwal and other bowlers who performed brilliantly in the 16th edition of the league.
