Sarfaraz Khan has claimed that he is happy for his father. The star batter’s father recently claimed that he is happy for his son getting the maiden India call-up for the series against England. Following it, there has been a good atmosphere in the family of Sarfaraz. The Mumbai batter has spoken about the same and expressed his happiness for the satisfaction in the family. 

The injury of KL Rahul meant that India had to bring in a replacement. Khan finally got his opportunity to be in India’s squad after scoring truckloads of runs for India A and in domestic cricket. The news was appreciated by the fans who wished luck to the youngster. While speaking with the broadcasters ahead of the match, Khan felt happy for his father. 

The middle-order batter said that his father was dreaming of seeing Sarfaraz in the Indian team, and it finally came true. He added that getting selected for the team out of 125 crore people is a special feeling. “More than myself, I’m happy for my father. He was dreaming of seeing this day. Being selected out of 125cr people feels special,” said the talented batter.

The right-handed batter claimed that he loves to watch several players bat. Sarfaraz took the names of some of the most popular batters like Joe Root, Ab De Villiers, Virat Kohli, and Viv Richards as the players he loves watching batting. “I like to watch Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers, Sir Vivian Richards. I also enjoy watching Joe Root play,” added Sarfaraz in his statement. 

India will be playing the 2nd Test against England from the 2nd to the 6th of February. The key for the home side would be to win the Test to make a comeback in the series which will be crucial for the ongoing cycle of the WTC. A loss in the 2nd Test would make things difficult for the home side. Sarfaraz is a step away from making his Test debut.
