Mukesh Khanna, known for his iconic roles in Shaktimaan and Mahabharat, has criticized Bollywood celebrities for their actions. He believes many of them undermine Indian cultural values. Mukesh Khanna remarks focus on celebrities like Sonakshi Sinha, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Zeenat Aman, among others.
Khanna criticized Sonakshi Sinha for failing to answer a question about the Ramayana on Kaun Banega Crorepati. He linked this lack of knowledge to her upbringing, suggesting her father, Shatrughan Sinha, did not teach her cultural values. Sonakshi responded, defending her father and urging Khanna to stop using the incident for publicity.
Khanna also targeted Akshay Kumar for endorsing pan masala products. He noted that Kumar, who promotes health and fitness, endorses an unhealthy product. Khanna expressed concern over the influence of such endorsements on young people. He urged celebrities to be mindful of the messages they send through their advertisements.
Khanna also disagreed with Zeenat Aman’s stance on live-in relationships. He argued that live-in relationships conflict with Indian values. He believes such views, influenced by Western ideals, are unsuitable for Indian society.
Khanna criticized Ranveer Singh, questioning his suitability to play the role of Shaktimaan. He felt that Singh’s energetic persona might not fit the iconic role. Khanna’s concerns were about maintaining the true essence of the character.
Khanna further expressed his discontent with Saif Ali Khan’s comments about Ravana in Adipurush. He felt that such statements could distort cultural narratives.
Lastly, Khanna criticized The Kapil Sharma Show for being vulgar and inappropriate for family viewing. He even recounted an incident where Kapil ignored him at an award show.
