MS Dhoni offers prayers at Maa Dewri Temple ahead of IPL 2024

MS Dhoni was seen in Maa Dewri temple near Ranchi recently. The video of the former India skipper visiting the temple has gone viral on the internet. The star cricketer visited the temple ahead of CSK’s campaign in the IPL 2024. Dhoni is known for visiting the temple in the past as well. He visited the temple before India’s campaign in the ODI WC 2011. 

In the past, Dhoni visited the temple before the major matches of India and CSK. ‘Thala’ is known for his belief in the goddess. As the former Indian skipper was in the temple, the fans could not wait to get a selfie with him. Some of them managed to get a glimpse of him while others tried to get an image of him. Dhoni was seen offering prayers in the temple. 

Dhoni is known to be a religious person. After CSK won the IPL 2023, the skipper of the team was seen reading Bhagavad Gita in the car. It is one of the sacred texts of Hindus. The fans appreciated the fact that the former Indian skipper made an effort to visit the temple to get the blessings of the goddess. He will be seen in action in the IPL 2024. 

MS Dhoni and CSK aim to record sixth title

After the knee injury that he sustained during the IPL 2023, he underwent successful surgery. There were doubts regarding his participation in the 17th edition of the league. The star cricketer, however, confirmed his participation, as CSK announced him as the captain for the IPL 2024. The CEO of CSK, Kasi Viswanathan, gave an update regarding the recovery of Dhoni. 

Recently, Kasi was asked about the same. He claimed that Dhoni has recovered well and is undergoing rehab. He added that Dhoni started training and would be fit to play for CSK in the IPL 2024. “He has recovered well (from his knee injury). He is undergoing his rehab programmes, started training. By the time the next IPL starts, I am sure he will be fit to play,” said Kasi Viswanathan.
