Former Indian star Mohammad Kaif has been in the headlines for his tweets against Australia. After India’s 6-run win on Sunday, the 43-year-old took a massive swipe at the visitors. Team India had won the game and wrapped up the series with a 4-1 margin.

Mohammad Kaif had stirred controversy when his tweet after the ODI World Cup 2023 faced a lot of flak. The 43-year-old tried to downplay Australia’s dominating performance to claim their 6th ODI World Cup title.

Mohammad Kaif left red-faced over old tweet-

Former Indian star Mohammad Kaif was slammed by fans on social media. The reason behind this is constant tweets lately taking swipe at the Australian cricket team. 7-years ago Kaif, had made similar comments during the T20 World Cup held in India.

The old tweet about South Africa read “Disappointing to see one of my favourite South Africa exit early from the WT20. It doesn’t matter how strong you are on paper, you have to perform on the day”

Once this tweet came to light many fans slammed Mohammad Kaif for his double standards. Australian opener David Warner also replied to the former India star after his tweet post the ODI World Cup final went viral.

After India’s win over Australia in Bengaluru on Sunday, Kaif tweeted “Better talent, better skills. This time the better team on the field, and on paper, won 4-1”. Suryakumar Yadav marked his T20 captaincy debut with a fine win over Australia.

The next challenge for the 33-year-old is the series away in South Africa. Team India is set to play three T20 matches with the first match on Sunday in Durban. The management has rested regular skipper Rohit Sharma for the ODI and T20 leg while Hardik Pandya is still injured.

South Africa have already announced their squad for the India series. Aiden Markram will lead the ODI and T20 side. Meanwhile, SA management has rested Temba Bavuma and Kagiso Rabada for the white ball leg against India.

The side will see Temba Bavuma leading the side with most of the big names back in action in the Tests against Rohit Sharma’s India. This is the first time in over a decade that South Africa will go into any format without former wicketkeeper-batter Quinton De Kock.
