Former Pakistani pace bowler Mohammad Amir has come up with a radical suggestion to the Pakistan cricket board. The 31-year-old has suggested three different names to captain the Pakistani team in each format of the game.

This latest suggestion comes after Pakistan’s disastrous ODI World Cup 2023 campaign, Babar Azam is set to be replaced as the skipper of the side and there is wide speculation on who could lead the side.

Mohammad Amir hasn’t named either Mohammad Rizwan or Shaheen Shah Afridi as a potential candidate. The 31-year-old has named two players who could be good choices to lead the side in the whiteball format. Amir also named one former skipper as a likely choice to captain in test cricket.

Three different captains for the Pakistani team?

Mohammad Amir the former Pakistan pace bowler has come out and implored the PCB to appoint three new skippers. The former left-arm pacer has named Imad Wasim, Shan Masood, and Sarfaraz Ahmed as the three new skippers.

Amir named Imad Wasim as the T20I skipper keeping in mind the 2024 World T20 Tournament in June. Speaking to a news channel Amir said “For the T20I format, with the T20 World Cup on the horizon and a series of T20 matches and a Test series against Australia lined up before the mega-event, I pick Imad Wasim”

Imad Wasim has been doing a stellar job in the T20 format and there were calls to include him for the 2023 World Cup as well. Speaking about the ODI format, Mohammad Amir chose Shan Masood and said “In ODI, if you want to change regime then Shan Masood can be a very good option”

Finally, Mohammad Amir named Sarfaraz Ahmed as the next test captain and said the veteran could help groom the next skipper. “If you want to prepare any youngster for Test captaincy, Sarfaraz still has 2 years left in cricket, so appoint him as the captain along with a youngster as vice-captain”

Pakistan lost two test series at home to Australia and England under the leadership of Baba Azam. The England side whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in what was a brutal display of Baz-Ball tactics from Ben Stokes and his side.
