‘Mehnat vasool bhaisahab’ – Fans over the moon as Yashasvi Jaiswal scores hundred in second innings against England in Rajkot
Yashasvi Jaiswal reached the summit for the 2nd time in the series. The youngster wasted no time after getting set in the middle against England in Rajkot. The Southpaw did not have a great time in the middle in the first innings. However, he made the most of his form by scoring a hundred in just 122 balls in the 2nd innings against good bowlers.
England’s bowling attack of James Anderson, Mark Wood, Rehan Ahmed, Tom Hartley, and Joe Root were taken to the cleaners by the Indian opener who had a brilliant range of striking. Before the tea break, Jaiswal took his time to get set in the middle. After losing the early wicket of Rohit Sharma, the young batter tried to bring stability to the Indian innings.
The wicket on the third day was not as easy to bat on. The Pacers got the ball to reverse with the old ball. The spinners got to turn and bounce. However, the determination of Jaiswal to succeed helped India big time. His scores in the series currently are 80, 15, 209, 17, 10, and 101* (And counting). He has been the best batter in the series till now with a lot of big scores.
Incredible acceleration from Yashasvi Jaiswal
Yashasvi scored only 19 runs in his first 50 balls. What followed it was absolute belting. The 22-year-old got going in the over of Anderson and did not look back. In the over, the youngster greeted the 41-year-old with a six and a couple of boundaries. In the very next over, Jaiswal hit Hartley for back-to-back sixes. His knock was so good that Shubman Gill at the other end was happy to defend.
In the last session, India scored 127 runs in the first 25 overs at a run rate of 5.08 without losing a wicket. The bulk of the scoring was done by the RR batter, who looked fearless in the middle when going got tough. India is in control of the match mostly due to the exceptional knock of the youngster.
