“Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from next season. He will not practice now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by India Today.

Delhi Capitals’ poor performance in IPL 2023

The setback occurred when Rishabh Pant met with a serious accident on December 30, 2022, while travelling from Delhi. His car collided with a divider, resulting in his hospitalization. After an extended stay in the hospital, Pant continued his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to expedite his recovery.

During his absence, various players tried to fill his significant role in the Indian cricket team, but Pant’s unique skill set made him a challenging act to follow. In the 2023 IPL season, the Delhi Capitals appointed David Warner as the team’s captain, but the team’s performance was poor, finishing at the bottom of the points table.
