‘Match ke samay hi inko family ke sath ghumana hai’ – Fans react as Jasprit Bumrah rested by management from 2nd ODI against Australia
In a recent piece of news, the Indian team management decided to give a break to the star pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match ODI series against Australia. He did not travel with the rest of the team to Indore for the penultimate fixture of the ODI series against the visitors.
The Indian Cricket Board informed about Bumrah’s absence from their official X account, explaining the reason as well. The Indian Cricket Board informed the fans that the star pacer had gone to visit his family so the management gave him a short break from the cricketing schedule.
The 29-year-old pacer will be back with the Indian squad for the third and last ODI of the series, which will be played on Wednesday, September 27 at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.
“UPDATE: Mr Jasprit Bumrah did not travel with the team to Indore for the 2nd ODI against Australia. He has gone to visit his family and was given a short break by the team management. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has joined the team as Bumrah’s replacement for the 2nd ODI. Bumrah will join the team for the final ODI in Rajkot,” reads the tweets posted by the Indian Cricket Board from their official X handle.

Notably, Bumrah made his comeback last month in the T20I series against Ireland after a long break due to an injury, that he sustained last year in September. He has been very impressive with the ball since his comeback against Ireland; the Ahmedabad pacer also won the ‘Player of the Series award in the T20I series against Ireland for his amazing bowling performances for India.
