India is set to have major changes in their lineup for the third Test. Even in the squad which is set to be announced for the rest of the series, there are likely to be many amendments. Rohit Sharma was seen discussing with Ajit Agarkar in the middle after India won the 2nd Test at Vizag. It might have led to discussions on the team selection.

The fact that Virat Kohli might need a bit of time to return to cricket has ruled him out of the next two Tests against England. As a result, India is likely to announce the squad only for the third and fourth Tests at Rajkot and Ranchi respectively. However, good news awaits the Indian team. Ravindra Jadeja and KL Rahul are likely to return to the side for the 3rd Test.

They could not take part in the Vizag Test due to the injury. While Rahul sustained a quadriceps injury, Jadeja suffered a hamstring injury. Given their treatment in the NCA, the duo is likely to return for the third Test. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami is confirmed to not be a part of the Test series. He is likely to play for GT in the IPL 2024.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj likely to reunite

Mohammed Siraj, who was asked to take a rest during the Vizag Test, is likely to join the squad for the third Test. Similarly, Ishan Kishan is unlikely to be in the squad, as it seems like the star batter has not yet made himself available for selection in Tests. Jasprit Bumrah was earlier reported to not take part in the third Test.

However, the latest report claims that he is likely to play the third Test at Rajkot. It might be good news for the fans who have seen the great performances of the star bowler in recent times. It might mean that the Indian team would rest Mukesh Kumar to get Siraj back in the team. The team combination of India for the third Test would be interesting to see.
