A major update has come regarding Hardik Pandya following his ankle injury in the match between India and Bangladesh in the ODI World Cup 2023. The Indian star All-rounder is likely to be ruled out of the match against New Zealand in the ODI World Cup 2023. The big match between India and New Zealand in the iconic HPCA stadium in Dharamshala will not witness Hardik.

During the match between India and Bangladesh, Hardik twisted his ankle while bowling in the 9th over of the match. Hardik started limping on his runup and the physio rushed to his aid soon. Hardik received temporary bandages and retired from the match instantly. Fans were not in a good mood after the injury of Hardik. There was visible worry amongst everyone in the stadium.

The later deliveries of Hardik in the over were later covered by Virat Kohli, who bowled for the first time in 7 years in international cricket. Soon after the incident, Hardik was sent to scans. The reports suggest that Hardik’s injury is not very serious, but he is likely to miss out on the upcoming match against New Zealand. India has 4 wins in a row currently in the tournament.

‘He will be missing the next game’ – Reports

“He will be heading to Bengaluru where he has been asked to report to the NCA. The medical team assessed his ankle scan report, and it looks like he will be fine by taking an injection. The BCCI consulted a specialist doctor in England, and they too were of a similar opinion. He will be missing the next game,” said the reports of Hardik’s scans. The reports suggest that Hardik will be fine soon.

The reports also said that Hardik would be taken to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for quick rehabilitation. In the post-match conference, the Indian captain Rohit had stated that the injury of Hardik was not serious. “He pulled up a bit sore, nothing really major to worry about. We’ll see how he pulls up tomorrow morning and then plan on how to go forward,” said Rohit.
