In the 28th game of the ongoing CPL 2023, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders locked horns at the Providence, Guyana. It was a reverse fixture between both teams, having played against each other in the Trinidad leg. The Knight Riders were playing their last league game of the tournament, having already qualified for the playoffs.

For the five-time winners, GAW, Imran Tahir took three wickets while Dwaine Pretorius, Romario Shepherd, and Keemo Paul took one each.

In reply, the Green Brigade had a great start as Pakistani international, Saim Ayub and pinch-hitter Odean Smith put together 56 runs in just 6.2 overs. The former scored 37 off 24 balls including five fours and two sixes. On the other hand, Smith amassed 44 off 32 balls. Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 54 off 37 balls including two fours and three sixes.
In the end, the home side won the game by six wickets and 10 balls to spare. With this win, Amazon Warriors have ensured their first-place finish in the points table. On the other hand, TKR is sure to finish in the second spot. Both teams are set to play the Qualifier One on September 21. The last time they played in a Qualifier One game in Guyana was in 2018 with the Warriors winning the game.
