Kuldeep Yadav gives major update on Ravichandran Ashwin’s return to Rajkot for 3rd Test match
Ravichandran Ashwin, India’s prime spinner, had withdrawn from the 3rd Test match due to a family emergency. However, Kuldeep Yadav has indicated the off-spinner’s return in the ongoing Rajkot Test. While talking to Dinesh Kartik on JioCinema, Kuldeep said that Ashwin might return for the rest of the match and join the team.
Kuldeep said, “I am not sure but I think Ash bhai is someone, who is coming back I guess.”
The Indian Cricket Board extended full support to Ashwin during his tough times. Ashwin, who had completed 500 wickets in the 3rd Test matches, became the 2nd bowler to join the 500-wickets club. Moreover, Kuldeep also provided an update regarding Yashasvi Jaiswal’s condition. As per the spinner, the 22-year-old batter will return to bat as he is completely fit and fine.
Moreover, India has taken a massive lead by 373 runs and has lost just two wickets. While the batters have done their job, once England returns to chase, the bowlers will have to maintain the momentum and bowl well. If India manages to win the match, they will take a lead in the series, 2-1.
‘The important role for a bowler is to bowl six dot balls’ – Mohammed Siraj opens up about bowlers’ responsibility
In the 3rd Test match, Mohammed Siraj took four wickets in the absence of Ravichandran Ashwin. Post the match, Siraj revealed that the bowlers knew their responsibilities as they were playing with one less bowler. He also mentioned the importance of bowling dot balls as they frustrate the batters and thus, end up making mistakes.
Siraj said, “We had only four bowlers and we had a responsibility. We knew they would attack so we spoke about sticking together knowing that they would make a mistake. We didn’t plan anything much, we were waiting for them to make a mistake. I knew the yorker would be a good wicket-taking option. The important role for a bowler is to bowl six dot balls, we know they’re not used to playing out six dots in a row.”
