‘Kuch b ho jaye KL Rahul to khelega hi’ – Fans react as reports claim KL Rahul to play as specialist batter and KS Bharat to keep wickets against England

The latest reports have claimed about the choice of India in the Tests against England. It is reported that KL Rahul might be in the team as a pure batter. Given the spin-friendly conditions, India is likely to go with KS Bharat as the wicketkeeper. The series will be starting from the 25th of January and India recently announced its squad for the first 2 Tests of the series.

One of the biggest surprises in the squad was the inclusion of Dhruv Jurel, who is 22 years old. The youngster has played for India in the Under-19 World Cup in the past. At a very young age, Dhruv seems to be the new WK batter in the making for India. For Rajasthan Royals, Jurel played impactful cameos in the IPL 2024 as an impact player.

However, the thought process of the Indian management seems to be different. it looks like India would be playing Rahul as a genuine batter in the middle order and KS Bharat as a WK batter lower down the order. It needs two players to be in the side instead of one. It questions a lot of preferences of the management, which seems to not have gone well with the fans.

The selection process of management questioned by fans

As per the new reports, Rahul might be in the middle order as a pure batter. It means that Shreyas Iyer might not be in the XI. The aggressive batter has made a name for himself in the longest format of the game against spin. To snub him from the XI does not make any sense to the fans. they have questioned the motive behind playing KS Bharat as the WK batter.

Jurel in the XI might be a better option for the balance given that he is a genuine batter and a genuine WK. It would mean that India can play an extra batter or a bowler in the XI. However, the idea of playing both Rahul and Bharat in the XI might not be ideal considering the balance of the side.
