It was a day to remember for Dhruv Jurel and his family as the young man was called up to be a part of the Indian Test team. It was a brave move from the Indian selectors to call the youngster to the squad.

The absence of Ishan Kishan was moaned by the fans as Dhruv Jurel’s name came to light. The Indian selectors have made some bold moves as well and have shown no mercy which included the youngster.

It has been an amazing story for Dhruv Jurel who has proven to the world that he is one for the future. Last year during the IPL season the right-handed batter was instrumental in the Royals finishing a few games.

India’s latest Test entrant is a star for the future –

After Rajasthan Royals found a new finisher by the name of Dhruv Jurel hitting the headlines. The youngster was flanked by the media. There was the ultimate comparison to MS Dhoni as India was looking for a lower-order finisher.

By the end of IPL, one felt that Dhruv Jurel was yet another player who was set to be a flash in the pan. With the already established Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan, there was no conversation for another wicketkeeper.

It was firmly believed that Ishan Kishan would cement his place behind the stumps. Pulling out of the South Africa Tests seems to have played a huge role in his ouster. After two successive half-centuries in first-class cricket, there is no doubt that Jurel is talented.

What makes it even more interesting is that despite being just a young man Jurel has a good head on his shoulders. There was an ample number of evidence of that during the latest India A versus South Africa A Game.

At one stage India was placed at 140/4 with Sarfaraz Khan falling for 34. This is where many felt the Indian team would implode. Tilak Varma found a huge ally in Jurel as the pair added 103 runs for the fifth wicket in 45 overs.

In an age where scoops and 360-degree cricket are in vogue, the young man UP showed grit and determination. It was this virtue that earned him a call-up to the Indian team. Only time will tell if Jurel can handle the pressures of International cricket. But for now, he has certainly taken baby steps into the biggest stage.
