The Indian Cricket team will be playing their 5th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023 against New Zealand at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala on Sunday, October 22. Both New Zealand and India have clinched victories in their initial four matches of the tournament, but one of them is bound to see their winning streak come to an end.

Meanwhile, during a practice session in Dharamsala, young Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan had an unexpected encounter when he was stung by a honeybee, leaving fans buzzing with concern. The incident occurred when the 25-year-old was facing Mohammed Siraj in the nets, and abruptly departed the training session after being stung.

In a display of frustration, the left-handed player flung his bat aside and hastily exited the nets. Subsequently, he received attention from the physiotherapists for a brief period. Social media quickly lit up with reactions from fans who expressed both sympathy and humour, as they shared their thoughts on this unusual occurrence.

Suryakumar Yadav also got his writs injured while practising

However, not one but the Indian team suffered two major setbacks as their star middle order batter Suryakumar Yadav also got injured during the net practice. His prospects of securing a spot in the World Cup starting XI have now diminished due to injury concerns.

The setback arose from an incident during a net session where Suryakumar was struck on the right wrist while batting, prompting him to leave the nets immediately. According to a report, the team’s physiotherapist provided an ice pack for his injured wrist, and later, his entire wrist was taped for support.

Currently, both Kishan and Suryakumar find themselves on the bench, as there is no room for either of them in the squad. Kishan stepped in for the first two matches of the tournament in place of Shubman Gill, while Suryakumar is still awaiting his debut for the Indian cricket team in the World Cup.
