Indian team displayed a magnificent batting performance in the 4th match of the ongoing 5-match T20I series against West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Florida on Saturday, August 12. India’s young sensations Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill single-handedly helped the Indian team to win the match by 9 wickets.

Meanwhile, Gill, who has been suffering from a disappointing run in the current tour of West Indies, talked about his knock in a conversation with Arshdeep Singh after the 4th match and said that the wicket looked good to bat and he successfully capitalise on it. Gill said that they performed well in the powerplay which helped them to play freely in the middle-overs as well.

“I couldn’t score 10 runs in the first 3 matches, but this looked like a good wicket so my intention was to capitalise on it. Once I got off to a good start, I hoped to end the game, we had a good powerplay and we looked to play the next couple of overs well which would finish the game and that’s how it panned out,” Gill was quoted as saying by News 18.

I felt I didn’t make any mistakes: Shubman Gill

The 23-year-old batter will be in action again in the 5th and the final T20I of the series on Sunday, August 13 at the same venue and the fans will expect him to play another great knock and help the Indian team to win the series by 3-2. Meanwhile, Gill also shared some tips for aspiring batters and said that a batter should identify whether he is making any mistakes.

“These are the basics, you must identify whether you’re making any mistakes. I felt I didn’t make any mistakes, but I couldn’t convert it well. That’s how the T20I format can be, sometimes you end up giving away a catch. You tend to always think about scoring runs, it’s just one needs to follow their own template,” he said.
