‘Karali bezzati?’ – Fans troll Pakistani Sport Journalist for including Babar Azam in ‘Fab 5’, says he is ‘Fab 1’

Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson are popularly dubbed as the ‘fab four’ by fans. However, recently, Pakistan fans started the trend of calling the lobby the ‘fab five’ to include their star batter, Babar Azam. The same was recently done by a popular Pakistani Sports Journalist on his Twitter account. He took the comparison a step higher calling Babar Azam, the ‘fab 1.’ Fans flooded his comment section to troll him heavily.

The Journalist named Farid Khan wrote, “In the Fab Five, only Virat Kohli and Babar Azam are all-format players. Rest of the players are either ODI greats or world-class Test performers. It’s silly that experts consider Test form only while talking about Fab Five. And Babar Azam is Fab One.”

Ishant Sharma and Aakash Chopra were the recent ones to comment on the ‘Fab Four’

The discussion over the privileged lobby of the fab four has recently made headlines. Earlier, Aakash Chopra, former Indian cricketer-turned-commentator and expert said that Virat Kohli no longer merits an entry into the ‘fab four’.  “Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Steve Smith and Kane Williamson were a sure shot ‘Fab Four’ at one point. In fact, even David Warner’s name was present on that list. We are talking about Test cricket. We are talking about the period between 2014 and 2019. But we don’t have a ‘Fab Four’ now, only a ‘Fab Three’,” said Chopra.

“Virat Kohli’s numbers have plummeted. He has played 25 matches – 1277 runs, which does not suit him. He has an average of 29.69 and he has scored just one century overall, which came against Australia on the Ahmedabad ground,” Chopra added.

Former India pacer Ishant Sharma was quick to react to Chopra’s statements with a witty reply. He said, “Virat Kohli doesn’t need Fab 4 but Fab 4 needs him. If we consider ODI and T20i then there’s only Fab 1 and that’s Kohli. I find it funny when people compare a 3 format player with others on the basis of test only.”
