England and Bangladesh will clash against each other in the ongoing ODI World Cup match on Tuesday, October 10 in Dharamsala. The English side started their World campaign with an embarrassing 9-wicket loss to New Zealand. On the other hand, the Bangla Tigers were victorious in their first match.

Meanwhile, England star wicketkeeper-batter and captain Jos Buttler has expressed his displeasure with the outfield quality at the venue. Buttler’s comments have raised concerns about the playing conditions and have ignited a debate about the standards of cricket facilities. He was also concerned that the poor outfield could also lead to players’ injuries.

“It goes against everything you want to be as a team. You want to dive to save a run. The way the surface is, it’s not ideal. We won’t use it as an excuse but it’s certainly going to hold yourself back from a place you want to be as a team.” Buttler was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.

“Injuries can happen anytime. It’s definitely a surface where you’re going to want to be even more careful, which isn’t what you want to be doing for your country. You want to put your body on the line. Guys tearing in and needing to bowl fast, they need that confidence. But we’re professionals so we’ll adapt,” he added.

Fingers crossed no one on each side picks an injury: Jos Buttler

The condition of the outfield is crucial in limited-overs cricket as it can affect fielding and even the outcome of the game. Buttler’s comments have put pressure on the organisers to ensure that the outfield is in suitable condition for the match.

Fans and experts alike are now eagerly awaiting updates from the ground staff in Dharamsala to see if the outfield can be improved before the England-Bangladesh clash. The cricketing world will be watching closely, hoping that the players are provided with the best possible conditions to showcase their skills on this global stage.

“Naturally, you see a ball, you want to dive for it. It’s unique I think to be honest. I know it’s going to be the same for both teams. Hopefully, fingers crossed no one on each side picks an injury,” Buttler said.
