England white-ball skipper Jos Buttler didn’t have the best of ODI World Cups as captain last year. Entered the tournament as the defending champions, the team finished seventh as they lost six out of nine league games. One of those losses came against Afghanistan. In their last two games, the Three Lions managed to keep themselves in the top eight to qualify for the Champions Trophy 2025.

Apart from this, Buttler’s batting form during the tournament was horrific. The two-time World Cup winner managed only 183 runs in nine games and no fifties. However, in the white-ball series against the West Indies, he scored three fifties (one in the ODI series and two in the T20I series). After this, the T20 World Cup 2022 winning captain played for Paarl Royals in the SA20 2024, the subsidiary of Rajasthan Royals.
