Rohit Sharma has a blunt take on the players who are not willing to play Tests for India. The Indian skipper was asked about some of the players unwilling to play Tests for India. Rohit felt that one must not force the players to play cricket. He felt that the players need to play only those formats they wish to. The statement of Rohit has gone viral on the internet.

In the last few months, some of the reports have come out regarding the disinterest of some of the players to take part in the longest format of the game. Some of the players like Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar, and Shreyas Iyer have refused to take part in the Ranji Trophy for various reasons despite being fit. It has not gone well with the fans and the Indian Board.

While the secretary of the Indian Cricket Board, Jay Shah, released a statement regarding the same, the Indian captain was asked to comment on it after India won the match in Ranchi on the 4th day against England. The Indian captain emphasized the fact that the players are free to play the format they wish to at the highest level.

He added that players who are hungry to perform in Tests would put their bodies over the line to try and help India to win matches. He added that the players who are not hungry to play Tests are visibly lethargic in their approach to the format. Rohit added that there is no point in players who are not interested in playing for India in the longest format of the game.

“Dekho, jinko Test Cricket ki bhook nahi hain, wo dekh ke hi pata chal jata hain. Un sabko khilane ka kya faida phir?” asked Rohit to the reporters in the press conference. India won the fourth Test against England in Ranchi by 5 wickets. With the last Test of the series set to happen in the iconic stadium in Dharamshala, India have claimed an unassailable lead of 3-1.
